Helping People Get the Disability Benefits they Need in North Carolina

The Social Security Administration (SSA) recognizes that disabled workers are not the only ones who suffer when a family member has a mental or physical disability. At the offices of Brod & Maury, PLLC in North Carolina, we have experience helping clients obtain the Social Security benefits they need. When you are having trouble making ends meet, you may qualify for Social Security Disability Insurance benefits (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits.

For those who have little or no income, but do not qualify for traditional SSDI benefits, other disability programs may be available. Widows, children and others suffering from a disability may qualify for benefits, such as:

  • Social Security disability insurance benefits for widows between the ages of 50 and 60 who are disabled
  • Social Security disability insurance benefits for children whose parents are deceased or disabled, or people who became disabled while under the age of 22
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is also available for those who do not qualify for SSDI benefits. Those who are aged, blind or otherwise disabled and have little or no income may be eligible for these federal benefits.

These benefits are designed to meet basic needs for food, clothing and shelter. Most of the time, the income of your entire household is used in determining eligibility for these benefits. When you are struggling financially because of a disability, there are options. When you come in for a free initial consultation, we will explain your disability options and discuss how we can help you obtain the benefits you deserve. We don't collect any attorney fee unless you receive benefits.
